Clove Hitch Hefeweizen
Clove Hitch Hefeweizen uses a special strain of yeast selected specifically to impart distinctive clove and banana-like flavors to the beer. Malted wheat is a primary ingredient and provides a subtle tartness to its flavor. The combination of fruity flavors from the yeast and tartness from the malted wheat make this beer wonderfully refreshing on a hot summer day.
Extremely popular in the 1800’s, Bavarian brewmaster George Schneider saved Hefeweizen from beer extinction in the 1930’s. We have been brewing Hefeweizen at Springfield Brewing Company since the summer of 1998 and it continues to be one of our most popular seasonal brews.
