Citrusy American hops balanced by caramel malts.
The first beer ever brewed at SBC was christened Maiden Voyage, after Herbie Hancock's jazz standard by the same name. Maiden Voyage was brewed on December 1st and December 2nd, 1997, mainly to test our new equipment, but also to give us a fine ale to offer the anxious Springfieldians awaiting our opening. Our Maiden Voyage was a keeper, the recipe was tweaked and this fine brew turned into our Paul's Pale Ale.
Fast forward 20 years and we are again serving Maiden Voyage. But this time we have added a "Rev. 1" to the name. The recipe was formulated with the following idea in mind.... how would that first brew be brewed today, knowing what we know today.
Great with meat and cheese, pork rinds, or anything with light heat
