Barak Hill and The Hurricanes

The Hurricanes are a five-piece Americana rock band fronted by Barak Hill. Mike Henderson (Lilly Bee and the Pollinators) on guitar, Jody Bilyeu (Big Smith) on Wurlitzer, Dallas Jones on bass, and Brandon Moore (The Shotgun Brothers) on drums round out the band. The Hurricanes perform songs written by Barak as well as well-chosen covers by influential artists like Otis Redding, The Band, and Neil Young.

The Hurricanes were started as a side project, “for fun”—each member has their own musical endeavors. But the band gained attention from the the start and now keeps a semi-regular performance schedule in Springfield.
